William’s Lake, B.C.

April 29, 2011 By LaVonne

sourceWe have arrived. Safely, thank the Lord.It was not a good drive. For some reason, I was not in the mood to drive 6.5 hours and my Princess was not in the mood to sleep or watch her DVD. She just wanted to whine to us and make things difficult.Toddlers do that sometimes, don’t they? When we arrived I was physically and mentally exhausted. {You’d think I would be used to all this traveling by now and let it all slide off me like it was nothing.}The home we are staying in is beautiful though. … [Read more...]

Caribou Acorns

April 17, 2011 By LaVonne

Can you all guess what this is?I was sitting on the couch visiting new friends here in Quesnel, British Columbia, when my Princess walked in with a “surprise”. She opened her hand and dumped what looked to be an acorn into my palm. I could see my husband’s barely suppressed laughter and I asked “What is this?”To which he replied, “It comes out of the rear end of a moose!”Then, they all busted up laughing. Yep, you got that right, MOOSE POOP!?!Yes, my family is slightly weird. {Luckily it was … [Read more...]

Fraser River Family Fun

April 9, 2011 By LaVonne

Spring time is such a fun time. I love when the sunshine starts to poke his head out.My Princess' new favorite this week? Finding rocks at the shores of the Fraser River. You can still see some ice and snow. (Pretty crazy, huh?)Here is daddy and the Princess trying to throw rocks at the passing ice. (Very thick ice! The rocks just bounce off.) So a nice sheet of ice came over to say hi, and daddy stood his Princess on it, which she loved! What fun things do you like to do in the … [Read more...]

Exploration Museum

March 29, 2011 By LaVonne

Dear Mommy and Daddy,What a fun trip we had to Prince George, B.C. this last week. It is nice to see a big city.  May favorite thing to do was not Costco but The Exploration Museum. It was like the  Children's Museum at home. This place was FUN. My absolute favorite part? The water of course.I love building my own rivers and dams and playing with the plastic boats. Making the plastic boats and ducks go down my rivers was so fun! Have I told you lately that you guys ROCK and I am the … [Read more...]

Fraser River

March 27, 2011 By LaVonne

There really is a lot of beauty to be found in British Columbia. When we arrived here, I was in awe of the Fraser River at the end of winter. With snow and ice in and around the river, it is a beautiful sight. There is a pedestrian bridge in the town of Quesnel that we walked out on for photos. What a beautiful day too! This is one great benefit of traveling. We get to see and visit so many great things. You know what we also love about British Columbia? Tim Hortons. Google it.   "God … [Read more...]

Snow Mobiling

March 26, 2011 By LaVonne

As we were driving out to a church member’s home to go snow mobiling, this is what part of the road looks like. Last week, it was just starting to warm up for Spring in Northern British Columbia.Since, my husband has already tried snow mobiling, he was excited to get our Princess on one. She was excited to try it. {Believe me, she loves new things like this!}The weather was pretty warm and the snow still pretty deep. A perfect afternoon for snow time adventures.Where was I you ask?Inside the … [Read more...]

Blameless

March 23, 2011 By LaVonne

sourcePraise the Lord!We are not to blame for the recent flooding of the basement!God answered our prayers. We specifically prayed that when they put the snake into the septic tank that nothing would come up that would show we were at fault. {I mean if we were at fault we would gladly own  up to it as a mistake. But we really didn't believe we could be at fault.}The only thing to come up was blond hair. We are not blond. So, with the help of a camera they found a blocakge further down. The … [Read more...]
