Our Morning Routine

May 6, 2013 By LaVonne

Spread the love

Thank you to Silk Fruit & Protein for sponsoring today’s discussion.

Does your family have a morning routine? With our first baby, we didn’t have a big routine. Ever. And having no routine worked just fine in fact. But our Little Man? Well, let’s just say life is vastly different.

Our day begins at 6 am every day. He is a morning baby. Nothing we do has altered that fact. I am not a morning person. Thankfully, my husband and I take turns getting up with him. We’d love nothing more than if he would wake up at 8 am like his sister. Since, he does not, our morning breakfast routine begins a bit earlier than I would like.

Every day we eat the same thing. Well, mostly every day. It is definitely a routine. I like to grab a Greek yogurt, a handful of walnuts,  and 2 slices of toast topped with a vegan margarine. Daddy makes steel cut oatmeal which he tops with walnuts, bananas, and soy milk. My Little Man eats the same oatmeal with daddy with a bit of soy milk and bananas cut into bite sized pieces. We have this every day. Soy milk is of course a daily routine for breakfast and occasionally orange juice or fresh juice made with our juicer.

I will admit, a change every once and a while would be nice!

That’s where Silk Fruit & Protein could come into our routine.

About Silk Fruit & Protein

silk fruit & protein

Silk Fruit & Protein is a delicious fruit juice blend. This product from Silk is a high source of protein. My other juice choices in the morning do not have this option. They are available in three yummy flavors: Mixed Berry, Mango Peach, Strawberry Banana. Silk Fruit&Protein is also an excellent source of Calcium, Vitamin D, & Vitamin C.

Even though you will find Silk Fruit & Protein in the milk aisle of your local grocery store, this is a fruit juice product. It is a perfect addition to your morning routine! Instead of just orange juice or some other fruit juice you can get your juice and protein all in one great tasting product. I am excited that it is only 130 calories too. This product is not a great alternative for me, but it is great for my kids too. They’d love it. My husband, who drinks protein shakes would be happy to have this extra protein, and I think it would even taste great on his oatmeal. (He likes it pretty plain!) I might have to have it with oatmeal in the morning as well! Since we are a mainly vegetarian family, this would also be great for my kids so they can get a bit more protein. I have many friends whose children aren’t big meat eaters and they could easily have this drink in the morning as well.

What do you think? Wouldn’t you love to get your calcium, vitamins and protein in one great drink? Try Silk Fruit & Protein today!

How adorable is that first photo?? Love it! We haven’t tried Silk Fruit & Protein but it sounds like the perfect thing to add to our morning smoothie routine.

As much as I strive for routine, it does not happen in my house! There are just too many of us going in separate directions all the time! I am, however, very intrigued at getting some of that Silk Fruit and Protein to have for my breakfasts in the morning! I’m always too busy to eat so this would be perfect for me!

What is this routine you speak of?? 🙂

I definitely need more ways to get protein!

That picture is too sweet! My son used to fall asleep in his high chair all the time. We kinda have a routine at my house, although it seems something always seems to happen to make things chaotic.
