6 Teething Tips

Little Baby Girl Crying, not a happy baby

We are at 7 months old now and my Little Man’s is having teething issues. It is affecting his sleep and therefore affecting my sleep. When will I ever catch up on sleep? (This is deja vu people! I remember saying this with my Princess!)

So here are some tips that we currently are using to combat teething:

teething tips 2

Teething Tips

1. Bibs – we are currently going through 4 per day. I purchased the water resistant bibs and they still are soaking through. Bibs and doing laundry often are a must.

2. Teething Gel – we use this sparingly acutally. It is not working that well, and my Little Man seems to think the taste of teething gel is terrible. Imagine that?

3. Teething tablets – I like that these are natural and dissolve easily in my Little Man’s mouth. He loves them since they are sweet. They are like a tiny treat. Are they working? I am not sure. I keep using them 2 or 3 at a time in the hopes that if I didn’t use them, his teething would be worse. For a homeopathic remedy to work you must use it consistently.

4. Baby Tylenol – for really rough nights (usually 2x per week) I have been giving my Little Man Tylenol  It works. But I worry too much is not good for him. What do you all think? I didn’t have this issue with my Princess. Her teething was not so bad. Little Man has been having pain and extreme drooling for a couple months.

5. Teething rings – I put teething rings in the refriderator, I keep them in the diaper bag, we use them often. He bites on them or really anything he can get his hands on. It all goes in his mouth for biting. {I love our teething bracelet too. Remember that one? Such a great product!}

6. Teething toys – besides teething rings we also have teething toys. Toys that are especially made for babies to chew on as well as play with. Our Flip Flop Teether Book from Nuby is our newest teething toy. So fun, and easy to bring with us while we were out and about this week. My Little Man loves his teether book too. The pages crinkle and the head squeaks  but most importantly it is easy to bite for my Little Man. That is what he cares about right now. I like the cute story characters, how it closes shut, and the vibrant colors. One day, I think he’ll like that even more. Right now it is that soft teething edge that he loves.

Any teething tips out there? I am always looking for more!

    I definitely agree with the teething tablets but would also recommend the amber teething necklaces! My daughter loves hers and it works amazingly well! 🙂

      Thank you Jessica, I do have one of those somewhere. I won it before he was born on a blog giveaway. I forgot about it. Thank you for the reminder!

    Frozen Washcloths are a great one, teething tablets are my hero, totally homeopathic too.

    These are all such great tips. Good teething rings and toys are a must. I always liked the ones that could be chilled.

    My son is almost 18 months and only has 8 teeth. He just got the 8th one a few days ago. He is growing is teeth super slow, it’s been such a long process.

      Has it been tough at night for you, Tiffany? My nights have been kind of hard.

    My kids were always late with getting their teeth and had such a hard time. They didn’t like anything plastic to chew on so we did put washcloths in the freezer too and it seemed to help.
