The Heart of Christmas: An Inspiring Holiday Movie

November 12, 2012 By LaVonne

Spread the love

One of my favorite things (one of many, I must say) about the holiday season is an inspiring holiday movie. I love Christmas movies. I have a few favorites that I watch each year and I am happy to add to the holiday movie collection with quality family movies. The Heart of Christmas is one of those movies that will now be on my list each year.

About The Heart of Christmas

the heart of christmas

Based on a true story that gained national attention, the film tells the story of Austin and Julie Locke, who are devastated to learn that their young son Dax has been diagnosed with cancer. With courage, determination and faith they decide to give the boy one last Christmas – even if it has to be in October!

When the community sees their decorations and learns the truth of what’s going on in their home, a truly moving outpouring of care and support occurs that people really need to see to believe. It’s a great relief to know that this kind of thing really occurs in our society today, despite all our problems.

My Review of The Heart of Christmas

Get your Kleenex out! This movie will keep you in tears through most of the movie – sad tears and happy tears a like. Touching, inspiring, and uplifting – The Heart of Christmas shows us all what the real meaning of Christmas is.

Imagine what it would be like to have your child get luekemia. It is unimaginable to me. Based on a true story, the hospital staff, family and community support for this family is awesome. Praise God for people who truly care. They are out there and I am thankful for the love and rally around support you see in the film as it is based on real life events.

The film also shares the story of  a good mother who is pulled in so many directions she just does not have time for her family. Her reasons for being busy are valid, but her family is suffering. How many can relate to that? Life gets busy, but this time of year you can reevaluate your blessings and place family and God right at the forefront of your life. Which is where they should be.

Buy The Heart of Christmas

I won’t spoil the movie for you and tell you the ending but you must see this holiday film. You can watch this movie on gmc TV Sunday December 4th or buy The Heart of Christmas DVD from Amazon or Walmart online for only $10.

Oh my goodness – I’m already an emotional person as is – movies like this send me over the edge. I cried about The Notebook for at least an hour.
