5 DIY Lanyards with Tutorials

diy lanyards

We are one week into our seminar here in Indiana. It is going very well and many people are making decisions for Christ. It is quite exciting to see lives being changed. Each evening our seminar guests and workers wear name tags. We simply purchase the ‘Hello My Name Is’ sticky name tags from the local office supply store. This helps us when we are trying to learn 150+ names during our seminar. Because I also wear one of these name tags each night, I thought it would be nice to make a custom lanyard to have a permanent name tag in.

So off to Pinterest I went, to find some inspiration. Here are five do it yourself lanyard tutorials that I found:

Lanyard Name Tag Holder

The 36th Avenue has a great tutorial for what she calls, Teacher’s Badge Holders. I love the look of this one. The fabric flowers are a nice touch.

Fabric Lanyard

This is a simple and quick PDF tutorial using only fabric and a hook from craft blogger, Sew Spoiled.

ID Wallet Tutorial

All Wrapped Up offers a pattern template in her very comprehensive tutorial. I love this little wallet since I can put more than just a name tag in this.

Key Fob Tutorial

Sew 4 Home offers a great colorful picture tutorial. I love the coordinating fabric option for this tutorial.

Ribbon Lanyard

So simple. This DIY tutorial from Pocketful of Poise includes ribbon and felt. This is the easiest lanyard craft for a name tag that I found.

Great uses for lanyards:

  • Name Tags
  • Keys
  • ID Card
  • Credit Cards
  • Reward Cards

I love the idea of having my hands free. With a baby a lanyard could really be a lifesaver. Maybe a lanyard that not only has a name tag but a teething ring on it would be beneficial.

What other uses can I use for a lanyard?

Great ideas. I think the ID wallet is my favorite since I do not carry a purse. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love these ideas. Lanyards make great name tags for conferences and as a wonderful parting gift.
