We love picking out the perfect pumpkin each fall season. My Princess takes her time and picks one out so carefully. This year we deciding that we’d roast our pumpkin seeds instead of tossing them. Pumpkin seeds are so good for you and it is such a fun family activity.

How to Make Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

We made great tasting pumpkin seeds this year from our Jack O Lantern in four easy steps.

1. Pull out the seeds from the pumpkin. We used our hands and spoons to get the pumpkin clean.

2. Clean the pumpkin pith from the seeds. First we pulled as much from the seeds by hand, then we briskly rubbed the seeds together in a bowl of water to separate it even further.

3. After the seeds dry, I added olive oil (approximately 1T for my small amount of seeds), garlic powder (1-2T)  and sea salt (2t or so). I mixed with a spoon.

4. I baked for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. I checked it every ten minutes to make sure it wasn’t browning too quickly.

We have made them before without garlic, and the vote is in: We love Garlic Roasted Pumpkin Seeds!
