An Easy Way to Support Servicemen Overseas

November 3, 2014 By LaVonne

Spread the love

My husband was in the US Navy for four and a half years. Though we lived in Western Washington, he was attached to an air squadron based in Norfolk, Virginia. I missed him fiercely during his six month deployment, a six week deployment, and a three week deployment. Thankfully, we didn’t have children at the time. We need to support servicemen.

I have a lot of respect for the wives and mothers of our servicemen overseas. There sacrifice enables my family enjoy the comforts of my home.

How Can You Help?

This month we celebrate Veteran’s Day, and many people are thinking about how much they appreciate what those who served have done for our country. Many are also wondering how they can help those currently serving in our US Armed Forces. Here is one very easy way to support servicemen.

Marie Callender’s Comforts From Home

We had a Marie Callender’s back in our small naval base town when my husband was stationed here in Western Washington. It was great. Did you know that there is Marie Callender’s frozen food now? Yes, you can get that great homecooked meal you loved in the restaurant right in your own home. Marie’s offers many great frozen meals and desserts.

This fall, during the Comforts of Home campaign, when you purchase a specially marked Marie’s frozen box, you’ll find an 8-digit code. Enter that code online, and Marie’s will make a donation to USO2GO, a USO program that brings electronics, sports gear, books, games, and more to troops stationed in remote locations.

So easy, right? (Plus, doesn’t a Coconut Cream Mini Pie sound great?)

A Hero’s Welcome

This month, while you are purchasing specially marked boxes of Marie Callender’s frozen food, don’t miss their television special on November 11th — “A Hero’s Welcome”. In collaboration with the USO, you’ll see many surprising comforts of home including one special soldier reuniting with his family! The one-hour TV special will air across a range of your favorite networks including HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel, DIY Channel, and Great American County.

Don’t miss it!

Tune-in as Marie Callender’s, the USO and an army of experts from food, home and travel provide the comforts of home as only Marie Callender’s can, in a truly heartwarming homecoming you’ll always remember.

“A Hero’s Welcome” will welcome one special soldier back to their family in a national television event airing on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2014. The one-hour TV special will air across a range of your favorite networks including HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel, DIY Channel, and Great American County.

I have been selected by Tap Influence to be a spokesperson for Marie Callender’s While I have been compensated for my time, my opinions are my own.
