Homeschool Co-op: Her First Friday

Spread the love

Two weeks ago my Princess started Friday School at our Homeschool Co-op. What is a homeschool co-op you ask? Each Friday for eight weeks this fall we get together with 100+ families and learn together. Parents are the teachers, class helpers, the set up and clean up crew. The kids get to take the classes – three 1-hour classes each Friday morning after we have chapel together. We will also be having holiday parties and field trips together.

My Princes is taking Kids Crafts, Cupcake Decorating, and Knitting this quarter. Her first class she made chalkboard artwork with nails and yarn. It was pretty cool. She also decorated an Apple with Worm cupcake and picked out her colors for the hat she will be knitting.

I am assigned to the Toddler class. I bring my Little Man with me. Being around other kids is great for their social development. Being with the 18 month through 3 year old’s is not the easiest thing. I am glad my son is past the hitting stage that’s for sure.

I am quite happy with our homeschool co-op so far. My Princess is so shy I wasn’t sure what she’d think of this new class.

I asked her if she liked going to our homeschool co-op. Her answer? A resounding yes. She loved it. We had to miss week 2 of our homeschool co-op due to our vacation but she cannot wait to go back this week.

By the way, don’t you just love her new back to school clothes from FabKids?

We are both IN LOVE with FabKids Clothing. Such cute and stylish pairings at an affordable price. Plus, they are really well made. Not cheaply made at all. I highly recommend FabKids!

What’s cool about FabKids is that it was started by a group of parents including mom and actress Christina Applegate who wanted to kids to be able to express their own style through fashion. But they also wanted parents to be able to easily shop for high-quality fashionable clothes with the click of a button.

FabKids is also a fashion club that you join for free. Parents get monthly selections of super affordable, high-quality fashions personalized for their kids. Every outfit includes 2 pieces for just $29.95. You can get a fabulous dress, paired with leggings OR a top and a bottom. FabKids is currently available in sizes 2-12.

Cute outfits! I love the idea of a homeschool co-op. A friend of mine is actually trying to start one in her community now.

My girls would love that dress! I love that it’s cute but not overly fancy. Perfect for school!

A friend of mine does something similar with her children. It is working really well for her family, and she even teaches in the classroom,
