Feeling Confident in Hilarious Parenting Situations

laughter quote

As a parent, you daily face hilarious situations. Some are so awful that they just have to be laughed at. I need to start keeping track of all the funny things my Little Man is doing. I started this blog to keep track of what my Princess was doing and saying and I love looking back at posts from four years ago and laughing about it all over again. {That’s the great thing about blogging isn’t it?}

In my experience, these situations have been pretty funny (maybe not then, but definitely looking back):

  • The baby walking around the house with a dirty diaper in their hand.
  • The baby trying to pull out Grandma’s oxygen.
  • The obsession with belly buttons.
  • The obsession with lips.
  • Don’t get me started with potty training. {Can’t they come potty trained?}
  • The crazy days that make  you scream or cry then laugh uncontrollably?
  • Trying to give hugs and kisses to get their way {early manipulators, I tell you!}
  • The mimicking of our quirks? So funny to see on a toddler.
  • When they fall on their bottom and want you to kiss it?

This week, my husband and I laughed so hard at a mispronounced word my son said. He’s two and talking up a storm. But sometimes his words are hard to understand. Other times, it sounds like he is saying words – bad words. I won’t even tell you what we thought he said this week, it was awful. But, we could NOT stop laughing.

It is moments like that when light bladder leakage (LBL) occurs. Am I right, mommies? After two kids LBL is not an uncommon occurrence. What about you? Maybe it is during your workout at the gym, or when you’re chasing your toddler all around the backyard, or just laughing with your spouse about something your kids said – whatever is your trigger, LBL sometimes happens. It’s normal.

    Agreed, sometimes in Motherhood things that don’t seem funny in that moment are hilarious looking back.

    Kids are hilarious and you are so smart to write it all down! My mom had a little notebook that she wrote down things I said when I was little in – this was the ’80s, so blogs didn’t exist quite yet, haha! You will treasure these posts in the future, for sure! 🙂

      They have to be great moments when you pee. Or sometimes I am just so tired I laugh hysterically 🙂

      Not funny at the time, I am sure! But photos looking back will be hilarious 🙂

    It is funny to hear the kids say things that we say … like “I don’t think so” with a bit of attitude.
