Lifesaver Printable

Did you know that May 15 is Police Officers Memorial Day? May 15 also kicks off Police Week.

About Police Week:

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Bible Verses for Police Officers

Bible Verses for Police Officers

Psalm 82: 3-4 – Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Isaiah 54:17 – No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

Isaiah 6:8 – And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Psalm 144:1 – Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.

Police Week Gift

A great way to share appreciation to your local police officers is giving them a small gift. I grabbed some Lifesavers candy and created an easy to print label. Get the kids involved and let them give their local cops a small gift.

This is such a great idea!! Even more so with the negative attitude that seems to be surrounding police officers these days! Very sweet reminder that they are appreciated! I also love the verses you chose! Perfect!!

Thanks, Randi – it is important to appreciate those who are serving their communities in a positive and healthy way – which most police officers do. We need these brave men and women.
