This week our family is in San Diego for a family vacation. We are excited when we can get to travel for pleasure. We travel for my husband’s work so often that personal travel is such a delight. When we are traveling for my husband’s work many of our expenses are covered. But personal summer travel means that we need to buy airplane tickets, a rental car, and summer travel essentials – like swim diapers, sunscreen, snacks, and travel toiletries. I definitely used paperless coupons when shopping for this trip last week.

Do you use coupons when shopping for your family travel essentials?

When I was shopping for our summer travel essential I used my iPhone to save. Do you use mobile apps to help with shopping? I have many shopping apps on my iPhone for stores I shop at. I am hooked on checking my apps for sales and coupons. You can often find me in the parking lot scrolling through coupons.

Did you know that Walgreens mobile app now includes paperless coupons? Yep. You have no idea how excited I am about this. I have been using paperless coupons at a few of the stores I shop at and when I found out that Walgreens mobile app now includes coupons I headed there last week to shop! {I am in love with Walgreens and don’t really need more excuses to shop there…}

In the Walgreens mobile app, I found three must have summer travel essentials for our trip. I clipped these manufacturers e-coupons easily, found the products on the store shelf, and let the checker scan my phone at the checkout. I saved $4 on the above products just by clipping the coupons and using them at the checkout. It took me less than five minutes to look through the paperless coupons and clip them. I LOVE saving $4 in less than 5 minutes.

Of course, a summer travel essential of mine is sunscreen. But I also like to use Ziploc bags for packing the kids clothes, toiletries and snacks. The flushable cleansing cloths from Cottonelle? Those are a lifesaver with kids and I honestly just love using them too – especially in the summer.

    We live an area that has horrible coupons in the newspaper. You know how the ads say “less $x coupon found in most newspapers.” Well, ours isn’t one of those papers. LOL What I discovered is that by using the paperless coupons, I’ll actually have a chance of getting GOOD coupons for my trips to the store! Thanks for sharing your story.

      I am terrible at buying the local paper and cutting out coupons. I love that they are on my phone. I wish I could get the Smart Source and Redplum on my phone. (Maybe I can? I’ve never checked!) But I am so glad stores are now figuring out how important this feature is. I honestly buy more when I have a coupon for something I already use.

    Wipes are a great product to always have on hand when on the go, especially with 2 little ones in tow.

    You have such an adorable family! One of my must-have summer products is sunscreen, as my kids and I have very fair skin. That paperless coupon apps sounds great and very convenient.

    In my rural area coupons are not really available (even in newspapers!) so the paperless option has been a big help to me and my budget. My big Summer essentials right now include swim diapers, sun block and chapstick. #client
