Kindergarten Homeschool: The Lord’s Prayer Resources

the lord's prayer resources

The last three weeks of Kindergarten homeschool we have been reciting The Lord’s Prayer during Bible class. My daughter’s favorite way to learn this passage of Scripture was making a Lord’s Prayer mini book of her own. (Which she insists on keeping “forever” of course.)

Her second favorite way to learn this Prayer is by singing the scripture songs. Scripture songs have always helped my husband and I to learn Bible verses. We love Hide ’em in Your Heart with Steve Green a lot.

What are some of their favorite lessons?

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

My daughter will be 4 years old in January. I have been looking for fun ways to teach her how to spell her name, recognize letters and certain values. I was considering home schooling, but I think it will be good for her to meet new friends in a classroom setting. However, I do believe learning starts at home, so I love that you shared about teaching the Lord’s prayer to your daughter. I really want to teach mine the 9 fruits of the spirit.

Thanks for coming by Angela. I appreciate your comment. We are in a unique situation where we travel right now for my husband’s work. So we are not home long enough during the school year to put her in a private Christian school yet. But at about 4th grade we will most likely give her that option. It is nice to be homeschooling these younger grades though. It is hard, but I am happy that she is home right now. I don’t know if I could send her off at age 5… LOL!
