Nathanael’s 1st Birthday: Big Rig Birthday Party

My Little Man turned one! It is hard to believe how fast this year has gone. I wanted to have  a small party for him with family and close friends. {He can have larger parties with more children like his sister’s Reptile Party when he is older.} He has a few things he absolutely loves right now – dogs and vehicles.  He can see a doggie anytime and be so happy. I wish we could get a dog but since we travel so much for work, we will have to wait. He can push his cars and trucks around for quite a while all by himself and stay entertained. It is very nice. So we went with a Big Rig Birthday party.

I received the Big Rig personalized party hats, cupcake kit, personalized party banner and the party pack to go from Make it Mine Parties especially for this Big Rig Birthday. There are 8 personalized hats in the pack and they come disassembled. Putting these together was a bit time consuming. My only complaint is I do wish they were already assembled. They are made from sturdy paper and are very attractive. The curly ribbon on top was a very cute touch and the elastic strap could fit not only children but adults too.

Instead of ordering a large cake from a bakery I decided to make my own cupcakes. It is cheaper for our family but also very cute. I knew that they’d look just as professional with the 24 toppers and cupcake holders that come in the cupcake kit. I also could wait to display them on our new  Wilton 4-Tier Stacked Cupcake and Dessert Tower. I purchased some trucks and placed a couple on top of the cupcakes for an even more fun Big Rig Birthday theme.

We had about 20 family and friends attend and it was such lovely weather, we were able to eat outside. Our house is overrun with toys already so instead of getting Nathanael a lot of presents, we let his sister get him one gift. It worked out great, since he didn’t care too much about unwrapping gifts.

I also found some tattoos, noise makers, and candy at our local Dollar Tree to add to the birthday favor pack.

We had a great first birthday party for Nathanael. With simple food, cupcakes, and favors – the kids played together with outdoor games, and we had fun. The Make It Mine Parties products were a perfect addition to our Big Rig Birthday. The plates, cups, and napkins were top quality. I found matching utensils and extra plates a napkins at the local Dollar Tree and though cheap, were not close to the same quality. The personalized sign was so well done, I had many compliments on it. The cupcake toppers were made with heavy duty paper stock and very bright. Using Make It Mine Parties for birthdays, showers, holidays and events is so easy, and professional. Try them out at your next party, you won’t be disappointed!
