As we followed our trusty GPS into Indianapolis last week, we were greeted with this fun sight – dinosaurs trying to get inside the Indianapolis Children”s Museum. We knew right away, this children’s museum was going to be fun fun fun!

With 472,900-square feet, more than 120,000 artifacts, and over 1 million visitors each year, we are the largest children’s museum in the world.

We spent four hours in this fun museum and kept commenting how if we lived here we’d definitely get an annual membership. {Isn’t it funny, how much life changes when you have children? Children’s Museums become the highlights of your travel…}

The extensive Dinosphere was a hit with my two “kids”. The interactive quality, and state of the art computerized information and games was astounding. All over the museum kids could wear costumes including dinosaur costumes like the ones above. What fun!

The Treasures of the Earth exhibit allowed my Princess to be an archaeologist and dig for treasures. They also had 3D puzzles of warriors to put together – my husband enjoyed that. It really was quite challenging.

The Fireworks of Glass was one of my favorite exhibits. The kids get to use large colorful “glass” shapes to make their own unique creations. This is what the ceiling looks like {above}. It is beautiful.

This five story glass sculpture was created in Seattle!

My Princess really loved the Hot Wheels for Real exhibit. There was an area where you could decorate an actual car with decals and paper, stencils and colored pencils were provided to make your own Hot Wheels car. She loved that.

Take Me There: Egypt was probably the exhibit that we stayed in the longest. It was like you were in Egypt. You could learn about their food, homes, market, music, jewelry, and transportation. My Princess played that drum for a LONG time.

If you are ever in the Indianapolis area and you have children you MUST go to this children’s museum. We loved it. My Princess keeps asking me when we can go back.
