Silverwood Theme Park

August 20, 2010 By LaVonne

Spread the love

For our 11 year anniversary we decided to go to the Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Waterpark in Idaho. A six hour car ride became 8 hours, some of that misery of course. Thankfully, we had 8 episodes of Go, Diego, Go to give us a much needed break from a car ride with a 2 year old.

Once we arrived though we had FUN! The first ride of the day? The biggest, scariest roller coaster of course -Aftershock.

After that we spent most of the day letting that same 2 year old toddler go on her rides. There were many fun rides for kids at Silverwood and we were very happy to let her ride them all. Her favorite? The Antique Car ride. The cars are on a track but the children get to steer the wheel and push the gas/brake. Daddy pushed the gas/brake and the Princess steered the vehicle. As a result they were all over the track. What a great time!

Once the afternoon sun became almost unbearable we went over to the Boulder Beach water park. Cold water on a hot day feels great! With the Idaho breeze there were times when we were actually cold. The lines for the big waterslides were too long to wait, but the kids section and the lazy river was all we needed.

By 4:30 pm the Princess could not even keep her eyes open. Her nap time is around 2 pm but with all the fun it was postponed. Once we put her in her stroller after getting our dry clothes back on she was OUT in less than 2 minutes!

The hubby and I enjoyed the quiet and peace as we walked around and even caught a bit of the Magic show. Once the Princess woke up (Magic show was way too loud!) we went on more rides. The Carousel and Train were a HIT. She is still talking about the “bad guys” who took our money on the train.

What a great way to spend our 11 year anniversary! We can’t wait to go back when our Princess is older.
