So today was a hectic Labor Day. I am preparing for a consignment sale at the end of this month so I am went through bin after bin of the Princess' old clothes. Categorizing them by size I then combed through them and set aside ones that were worthy of consignment. Once I registered to consign, I then made tags for each outfit, books, VHS tapes, or blankets. I safety pinned these items, hung them on hangers, or put them in gallon sized ziploc baggies.Did I do this easily with a toddler in the … [Read more...]
Itchy Hands
Well the last few days my Princess has been scratching her hands. Either she will rub them together or she will actually use one hand to scratch the other. It started with her right hand and now it has moved to her left hand. They are a little red right now (not too much), and not too dry. She scratches more during her sleep and right when she wakes up. I have been just hoping rather naively that it would just go away. I don't know what it is and I don't feel like having to go through it. … [Read more...]
Things I Love Thursday: Answered Prayers
God is so good to us. We are blessed! This week He has answered our prayers in two areas. First, my Princess' rash is almost completely gone. We don't know what caused it, or what it really was, but I am just thankful we serve a God who cares about the small things like a rash. The second great news is that we received a letter today from the Pacific Union Conference. About two weeks ago, my wonderful husband, sat before a committee to be interviewed for ordination in the Seventh-day Adventist … [Read more...]
Prayer Request
So a week and a half ago we noticed a rash on the Princess' back. We thought it might be a heat rash or a contact rash. (It was pretty hot in Paris, especially on the Subway and we had to wash laundry in Nottingham in regular detergent.) After the weekend ended, the rash did not appear to be going away. We decided to take her to a pediatrician who told us not to worry. He said that almost all children get rashes and they are not serious. She never had a fever so we have not worried too much. He … [Read more...]
Home Alone
It is strange to be home alone. My parents took the Princess to church while I stayed home to relax. It is funny that as a mommy all you want is a break, just a small one each day. But once you are apart from your child, then you miss them. Crazy! (Maybe she did drive me crazy after all?) I have been watching National Geographic, reading How to Help Your Child Really Love Jesus, twittering (click to follow me), visiting blogs (click if you want to enter over 100 giveaways), and just plain trying … [Read more...]
Allergies? Cold? Bring It On.
Yesterday, my Princess woke up with a runny nose, sneezing, and a little coughing. She wanted a lot of cuddle time with mommy and daddy. She did not have a fever, so we are wondering if it is allergies. My husband always has bad allergies this time of year. Last night was miserable, to say the least. And today, well, it has gotten worse. I did give her some Motrin for infants and it does seem to have helped a bit.Despite how miserable a cold can be, I am so thankful for my Princess. Today, while … [Read more...]
Practicing Thankfulness: Pee, Popcorn, Pledge Dusters, Prayer
So this week I want to give thanks for things that start with P. The last few days on Sesame Street they have been doing the letter P. So I will follow suit. (See what I have become!?! Goodness, who am I? Oh yeah, a mommy.) Practicing Thankfulness Pee Pee - Isabella went Pee Pee again this morning in her potty chair. It took about 10 minutes of sitting there after we woke up but I was patient. Thanks commenters on this previous post for all the advice on potty training. I am taking it all … [Read more...]
