While we were out at Neah Bay, Washington we were able to visit the most NW tip of the contiguous United States– Cape Flattery. What a walk! Wait, first let me tell you about the weather. It is cold, foggy and windy. Always it seems.
The hubster and I made a bet to see who could guess how low the temperature would go. I won! 53 degrees. In July. Crazy! But I was thankful on the walk up that is was not hot.
The walk down (only 1/2 mile downhill) was lovely. Lots of stairs, tree stumps for steps and wooden raised walkways. The beauty, my goodness, the beauty was breathtaking. Well worth the walk up. The walk up though was not easy on me. I was breathing heavy and my face was red by the time the 1/2 mile ended.
To top it off I had to use the bathroom. BIG MISTAKE. I wish I could have held it. The smell was worse than any other outhouse smell I have been in. I almost threw up, literally. I put me face into my shirt collar, breathed threw my nose and held my breath at the end. I didn’t even touch a single thing but the toilet paper. I hovered over the toilet seat, not wanting to touch it. Is that too much information (TMI)?

I couldn’t see the photos, which is a shame. It sounds like a lovely place. I might have to try to make it out there the next time I’m in WA.
