So that threw us into a small panic mode. Any strange thing that occurs causes new parents to kind of “freak” out. What could be wrong? I consulted three books: What to Expect the Toddler Years, Your Baby Week by Week, and The Baby Book. None of those book mentioned low temperatures; well one did mention hypothermia. And we knew she was not hypothermic.
So then we decided to check the internet. And of course, this morning my husband’s computer was not working. By now we were a little frustrated, upset, and scared. (All you seasoned mothers are probably laughing, remembering how it was when your first child was small. Everything is a learning experience.) So we decided to check it again. (Ten minutes had passed by then.) My princess had a normal temperature. Of course.
Oh, I did read a great article this afternoon worth passing on. The story has now been picked up by CNN. A father and pastor in Fargo North Dakota because of the flooding was forced to deliver his own child. He downloaded directions on the internet! So he lost his home due to flooding but gained a new healthy baby girl. Praise God.
